Dan Riccio graduated from New England College in Heniker, New Hampshire with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration. After graduation, he spent two years as a Financial Analyst with First Investors Corporation.

After gaining this business experience, Mr. Riccio decided to work with his father in the hairdressing business, where he could have a greater impact on the direction and growth of the business. Mr. Riccio's father had owned Ricci's Salon in Newtown for several years. After graduating from hairdressing school in 1982, he joined Ricci's full time in 1983.

Dan Riccio took over the partnership of Ricci's Salon in 1988. In 1995, he founded Ricci's Academy, a leading edge hairdressing school. The Academy has also earned a reputation as Southern Connecticut's most prestigious advanced training center for updating current hairdressers on the latest trends.

Ricci's currently employs over fifty creative people in the Salon and Academy. In 1998, Ricci's celebrated sixty years in the salon business. Ricci's reputation, as one of the premier salons, has earned Ricci's a membership in "Salon Unite", the area's most prestigious organization for top salon owners.

While Dan Riccio has received many awards for his innovative styles, his most significant recognition was the Art and Fashion Master of the Craft Award which has been presented to only ten stylists in the Tri-State area. Dan is also featured as a leading platform artist, which means he is recognized as a consummate educator.

Each fall, Dan attends the Salon International, the United Kingdom's legendary and professional hair show in London, England. The salon seminar program allows the world's top stylists to hone their skills from the world teams of Vidal Sassoon, Toni & Guy and Rita Rusk, as well as compete for the "Salon Trophy" presented by Salon International and the National Hairdressers Federation.

Dan Riccio then invites Vidal Sassoon, Toni & Guy and Rita Rusk to participate in the Advanced Training Center he has developed to offer hair stylists from the salons in the Greater Danbury Area a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from these world famous stylists.
